Hollywood's embarrassing attacks on the Trump family should no doubt be ignored most of time. Still, occasionally their absurd grievances with the White House are simply too insulting to ignore.
This recent tweet from actress Rosie O'Donnell certainly stood out from the weekly harassments coming out of the city of stars.
That's right! She actually told the First Lady of the United States to divorce her husband. Rosie has been a long time Trump hater and this is definitely not the first time that she pushed aside politics to nose her way into the personal lives of the family. She took an incredible amount of slack after the Inauguration when she suggested that the rumors of Barron's autism were appropriate and even necessary.
“Barron Trump Autistic?” she wrote. “If so – what an amazing opportunity to bring attention to the AUTISM epidemic.”
The war between Rosie and Donald began way back in 2006 when she insulted Trump's revamping of the Miss USA pageant. Later, the President fired back in a 2016 campaign speech when he called her comments "unattractive."
The President isn't afraid to step up against the opposition; it's his job to defend his office and family. However, it's likely that Melania will ignore the recent comments and concentrate on more appropriate matters for the FLOTUS office.
Rossie should stop spouting off quick remarks and instead do her homework and see what's really going on in the White House residence. Melania has said time and time again that her relationship with Donald is "solid." Furthermore, she's continually shown that her and Rosie actually agree on some issues, such as women's rights.
“Together, we must declare that the era of allowing brutality against women and children is over, while affirming that the time for empowering women around the world is now. For wherever women are diminished, the entire world is diminished with them,” said Melania during her Women's Empowerment speech.
Instead of criticising the Trump's for being different, Hollywood should take a moment to appreciate a new style of thinking. Celebrities often preach about being open and understanding of others. Why can't they be open to Trump's views?
