Trump’s staff is getting ready for his January 20th inauguration in Washington where Donald will meet with multiple religious figures including Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
The inauguration committee led by Tom Barrack is proudly promoting the guest lists that features “a diverse set of faith leaders,” including a mixture of Christian and Jewish officials.
His transition team confirmed that Dolan will be one of the special guests to preside over the ceremony along with the Rev. Dr. Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Leadership Conference and Pastor Paula White of the New Destiny Christian Center. Dolan has accepted the honor of offering the official invocation.
Dolan and the Trump family first met just before the general election at the Alfred Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner at the Waldorf. The annual dinner for both Presidential candidates infatuated voters for weeks because of the brash roasting of Clinton and Trump as they both sat next to Dolan. Despite the political tension on the historic night, the Cardinal and Donald hit it off inspiring Mr. Trump to include Dolan on his special day in D.C.
The political and religious leaders will be entertained by musical guests Jackie Evancho, the Missouri State University Chorale, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The Radio City Rockettes will also make an appearance. However, details about their routine have yet to be released. The dance troop have been a staple of New York City since 1932 and they previously performed at George W. Bush’s inauguration in 2001.
